George Washington Carver Ambassadors
Furthering the Carver Museum's Mission of Supporting African and African American Traditions, History, and Culture
Who We Are
For close to 20 years, George Washington Carver Ambassadors, Inc. has provided support to the George Washington Carver Museum by offering volunteer services, financial support, and collaboration on programs and events.
On October 29, 2002 a few individuals of the Austin community met with Ms. Bernadette Phifer, curator of the George Washington Carver Museum. The purpose of the meeting was to start an organization to support the mission of the Carver Museum. Ms. Phifer welcomed the guests and explained some of the needs to support the museum. She went over the museum’s history, mission, and need for volunteers for the new facility that was being built. She stressed the importance of having another organization working for our future – the children, who will benefit the most from our support.
