OUR WORK
Our work is focused on charitable and educational goals in support of the Carver Museum and consists of annual fundraisers, annual programs and events, and other endeavors that support the overall mission of the Carver and help the surrounding community.
Annual Fundraisers
The annual Juneteenth Celebration T-Shirt sale and the Festival of Trees raises money to help financially support projects, programs, and community events at the museum.


Annual Programs and Events
GWCA helps to financially support programs and events at the Carver and for the surrounding community such as the SilverBell Social, Santa Special, the Arthur Sauls Scholarship, the Bernadette Phifer Scholarship, the 100% Community Art Exhibition, and the Austin African American Book Festival.
Some of the other supportive endeavors by GWCA have been:
Commissoned and purchased Art for the Museum’s Collection
Purchased “Dr. Carver” lab jackets for the children’s gallery
Purchased wheel chairs for the museum
Purchased a Self-Guided Tour System
Acted as museum docents
Purchased 20 Chrome Book Computers
Two GWCA members worked as consultants at the Genealogy Center
