Come join the George Washington Carver Ambassadors at the George Washington Carver Museum, Cultural and Genealogy Center’s inaugural Carver Juneteenth Kickback for a day of celebrating the sights, sounds and smells of Emancipation Day.
Meet us under the Ambassadors tent with award-winning private culinary creative Chef Tera Martin (Chef T) for a barbecue demonstration cherishing the Juneteenth tradition. The recipes she plans will speak to our sense of community and togetherness mixing delicious ingredients featuring grilled sausages from our 2026 sponsors, @SmokeyDenmark and @SouthsideMarket.
Her comestible concoctions will not only pay homage to our ancestors, but also reflect the vibrant spirit of the African American community with connecting culinary practices to our cultural heritage.
As the smells are wafting in the air, you’ll be treated to the sounds of global performer saxophonist Dr. Bianca Bailey (Dr. B).
A book signing will follow the session📕.
